Introduction
This web page gives a list of companies which I will not be doing further business with. Possible reasons for a company getting on this list may include:
- appalling customer service
- supplying poor quality products
- breaching trading standards legislation
- extreme technical imcompetence
- unethical business practises
- criminal behaviour
Each company is listed with a brief summary of the actual reasons for being
listed.
Scan Computers
Blacklisted for a single transaction with the following problems:
- incorrect estimated delivery dates on website
- failure to cancel order when delivery estimates passed
- using a courier company with a depot 20 minutes outside of Cambridge
- delivering a wireless access point which didn't even work
- bouncing email from IPs on the DUL blacklist
- simply ignoring email once sent to them
- not refunding the full amount once the broken device was returned
- generally being a useless bunch of muppets who allowed it to take over 1 month for this dismal failure of a transaction to complete
Also, a previous purchase of a DVD-ROM drive failed after light use, 1 month
after the expiry of the warranty.
Norwich Union Direct
Blacklisted for:
- not sending the promised free radio when I took out my insurance with them, despite a later phone call asking them to do so
- annoying TV adverts
